CMS Weekly Express Update
Monday, January 13, 2020 (Week #21)
Staff:
I can't believe how nice it was this past weekend. I can't remember it ever reaching 70 degrees in the middle of January. Oh well, it's just another example that things constantly change around us. As for the upcoming week, there's quite a bit going on. We are heading into the final laps of Term #2. Please continue to find creative ways to connect students to the curriculum. You all do such a good job at this and it truly makes a difference for the learning climate of our school.
Within this email, you will find a button called IXL Usage Survey. If you are using IXL in your class for any reason, please take a moment and fill out the survey. It will only take a couple of minutes, but I need the results. Math and ELA teachers please be very specific when taking this survey, as we spend a lot of money on this supportive program and we need to ensure we are using it in an equitable manner. If you are using IXL in a supportive class, please document it as well e.g. - Exploratory, Literacy, ILC or any other classes.
Finally, I have included a PDF form at the end of this email. This document will outline the District's Professional Development Plan for Friday, January 17, 2020. Math & ELA teachers will be digging deeper into understanding IXL and how it can enhance and measure learning in both content areas. All other teachers will have assignments as well. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns after reviewing the plan.
Have a great week with your students!
