Acuity Tests

Surprise! We took the first Acuity test today! Due to schedule conflicts some class times were switched and we were one of the lucky few! Below you will find the testing times for our class, just so you are aware. This also will affect our math and reading blocks slightly.

Monday, November 30th- Math from 1:15-2:15pm

Friday, December 4th- Reading from 7:50-8:55am

Friday, December 11th- Language Arts from 8:38-9:23am

Music Program Dates

Mark your calendars! The third grade music program date is as follows:

Classes of of Stegemoller, Branchick, and Wegner on Thursday December 10th at 7:00pm.

Students should dress up like they are going out to dinner and may also wear a
favorite Christmas hat.

The program will be held in the South gymnasium. Students should arrive to our classroom by 6:45pm so we can line up and calm our jitters!

Homework Challenge

I gave our class the homework challenge that if they could all get ONE side of Rocket Math completed and turned in tomorrow we would not have a homework packet due this week for reading or math. They then were given time to get their Rocket Math in their Take Home Folders. Hopefully everyone picked one up!

If students do not get their Rocket Math turned in tomorrow then we will have normal homework packets to complete (one packet with both math and reading since there would be a shorter completion time- thanks to the copier eating my packets this morning!)

For those students who have passed the Mixed facts in Math Fact Mastery, I gave them eight 2-digit by 1-digit multiplication to work on. This will continue until Christmas Break.

KKids Canned Food Drive

This week and this week only, KKids is accepting donations of canned food items. These canned goods will then be given to the Kiwanis club and will be shared with those in our Danville Community who need assistance this Christmas break.

Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

We have started our Informational Writing Unit. Everyone picked an Endangered Animal to research. We have started writing our rough drafts! When we are finished writing, we will rewrite them in our best handwriting. I was hoping to type them but the computer labs have been booked until break due to Acuity testing.

We are also teaming up with Miss Sweet in art class. She has graciously allowed us to incorporate our Endangered Animals into their Landscape portraits! I can't wait to see the finished products!

Unit 3 Week 1-

I will be starting a more "regular" spelling program in my reading class.
