Carlsbad Caverns is in the Guadalupe Mountains in southeastern New Mexico. The primary attraction is the show cave. Includes a large cave chamber, the big room. The big room is
almost 4,000 feet long, 625 feet wide, and 255 feet high made up of natural limestone. Carlsbad Caverns is the third largest cavern in North America and the seventh largest in the world.

What can you do?

A must see at Carlsbad Caverns is the big room. Visitors can take tours a self - guided tour or a guided tour of the caves. (More information about that below.) Besides the tours you can also go hiking, or backcountry camping. You could attend to the Visitor Center to watch the Mexican Free-tailed bats fly out of the Carlsbad Cavern in the dark summer night.
