What can you do?
A must see at Carlsbad Caverns is the big room. Visitors can take tours a self - guided tour or a guided tour of the caves. (More information about that below.) Besides the tours you can also go hiking, or backcountry camping. You could attend to the Visitor Center to watch the Mexican Free-tailed bats fly out of the Carlsbad Cavern in the dark summer night.

You must buy tickets at the visitor center to go on a self- guided tour. There are two self- guided routs - the Big Room Route and the Natural Entrance Route.
