Upcoming Common Assessments
Data for writing common assessments:
Some of your teachers have started to enter their common assessment data for the BOY writing. To locate the data, you will click on "Quick Views" and "Student Inventory". The data will automatically summarize by 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, etc.
Common Assessments:
The window has opened for your teachers to collect their first writing assessment. We have loaded the writing prompts and you can locate them by clicking the link below. Crestview has delivered the rubrics and we have loaded the writing prompts on our local assessment page.

How to enter writing scores into AWARE:
When you teachers go into AWARE to enter the writing scores, their screens will look different from last year. We have revised screen shots for your teachers. Teachers will enter the exact writing score for each student into AWARE. Ex. If a student scores a 1.5, the teacher will enter a 1.5. Please make sure to share this with your teachers as this is a different process from last year.

MAP Pilot Campuses
-Kinder through 2nd grade tests are meant to break up into 2 x 20 minute sessions. MAP recommends setting a timer to suspend the tests after 20 minutes and resume later (same day or next day).
-MAP Growth results are usually visible to the teacher the day after testing while Fluency results are ready a few minutes after testing
-How to check for students who still need to test Re-testing Policy (will use same report for finding students without scores as students that need to be re-tested)
-Naming convention-use lower case and only first 2 initials of campus to make it easier for kids to enter. Example "svjc3m" (campus initial teacher inital grade m(for math)
-Here's a great PPT for teachers or others to access practice tests How to Take MAP Practice Tests (Thank you Independence for sharing!)
-Padlet Resource! (Taking input on improvements needed!) Link to Keller ISD MAP Padlet
-easier to use or would it be easier if links to documents were on Assessment website?
-Saw a student struggle with iPad Math question. The student needed to click on the number then click on the space where the number/answer belongs.
Our Keller ISD MAP Re-testing Policy: use your professional judgment.
-re-test if students meet the rapid guessing threshold
-re-test students who you feel
We won't delete scores. Students will simply retest. MAP programming determines which test has the most valid score. So, retesting to get a higher score won't mean that MAP recognizes the higher score as the most valid test.
-after a teacher has finished testing, follow these screen shots to find students that need to be tested/re-tested.
-after campus has wrapped up testing, campus admin/TOT need to follow the same screen shots to ensure all students have tested or re-tested
ACCOMMODATIONS!!!!
-We have revisited this! Campuses MAY USE text-to-speech accommodations on Math Growth tests following a students 504 Plan or IEP.
High School Specifics
CTCs - I have adjusted the AP timeline's fee information at the bottom in green cells. The final cost for F/R students / students who qualify taking an AP exam is now $25.00. We can discuss more when we meet if needed. I will have Amanda Horn adjust in the web-store after our meeting to confirm. Here is the language we received from the state this week.: The state subsidy has been provided earlier than ever!!! The Advanced Placement (AP)/International Baccalaureate (IB) Incentive Program for the May 2020 administration will be $30 per AP and IB exam taken by an eligible student.
Subsidy TEA release is attached to this newsletter.
