HMS Update

December 4, 2020

Hello HMS Hornets and families!

We couldn't ask for a more beautiful day than today! We hope you and your family are well, and are able to take advantage of getting outside a bit this weekend. While the building is quiet, much is happening at the middle school! As the winter break fast approaches, there are many opportunities for students, staff and families to put a little bit of positive into the world!

Hockinson Holiday Food Baskets

Hockinson Middle School Leadership and the Hockinson School District Counselors are working together to support our families with food baskets for the holidays. Please support this wonderful cause by signing up to donate today.

Support Fire District 3, Support Hockinson Families!

Hello Hockinson Families! Many of you have been asking how you can help support our families this holiday season. The goal of Fire District 3 and Hockinson Schools is to keep people safe and limit the amount of gifts coming into our local buildings.

This year, in an effort to do this, Fire District 3 has opened a Go Fund Me account. Money donated to this account will be turned into gift cards for families. Fire District 3 will have the gift cards ready for pick up Wednesday December 16th, 2020. This will allow families the time to do their shopping.

If you are in need of assistance, or know of a family in need of assistance, please contact your child’s school counselor:

Vickie Hermann at Hockinson Elementary School 360-448-6430 or; or

Jessica Ambrose at Hockinson Middle School 360-448-6440 or; or

Myke Pace at Hockinson High School 360-448-6450 or; or

Brian Kimber at Hockinson High School 360-448-6450 or

This is a reminder that parents are the only ones who can excuse their students absences; while we really appreciate that students are letting their teachers know, parents still need to excuse the absence in Skyward or by calling our Main Office at 360-448-6440. If you have concerns that impact your student's attendance over time, please let us know so that we can make arrangements to work with you, and minimize the number of contacts you are receiving. Please reach out to Karen Johnson,
