Spanish Nation Honor Society Induction Ceremony
Many new members were inducted into Spanish National Honors Society last Sunday. Once they are inducted they are part of a society that takes many educational field trips to further their learning of the Spanish culture. In the past we have gone to the Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center and Spanish concerts. We took cooking and art classes at the center and got to learn about the culture of the Day of the Dead. We are excited to explore more Spanish culture with our new members in the future too.
FFA Week Was A Blast!
FFA week was a hit at Genoa High School this week! Students had plenty of opportunities to show their love for FFA. Students participated in a spirit week where they could dress up for America Monday, Truck v. Tractor Tuesday, Hawaiian Wednesday, Interview Thursday, or FFA Friday. Students could also participate in a hay bail toss, a dodge ball tournament, dizzy baseball, or drive your tractor to school day! Students who participated not only got FFA points, but had a lot of fun doing it!

GHS Drone Squad's First Race of the Year
This past Saturday, the Genoa High School drone racing team participated in their first league meet. The general gist of drone racing is that the teams must maneuver their custom fpv drones through, around, under, and above obstacles in order to complete two laps. Going against the odds, they proved themselves among larger schools such as Penta Career Center, Perrysburg, and Maumee. Experiencing a plethora of technical failures, the team still managed to clutch out sweet victory with Twisted Metal consisting of Savannah Wick and Nathan Uribes coming in 3rd and the Boogaloosters team consisting of Matt Robinson, Damyon Cruz and Nolan Weaver finishing in 4th place. With new and improved equipment on the way, plus with experience under their belt they are sure to be a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming races.
