OVERVIEW
This event connects companies and organizations with students seeking careers in digital, print and broadcast journalism, creative mass media, media sales, film, advertising and public relations. Career Day activities this year were a coffee mixer, a career panel featuring event sponsors, a networking luncheon and a career fair. This event is hosted by Grady College and the UGA Career Center, in partnership with the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.
Career Day would not be possible without the support of Grady College faculty and staff, from sending students from your courses to the event and sending emails to students, to assisting with staffing the day of the event. Thank you for your contributions to making this event such a success!

2019 ATTENDANCE
This year, we welcomed 105 professionals from 53 companies, including 13 event sponsors. We saw 443 students and alumni attend our events throughout the day, with our highest attendance being at the afternoon career fair.
Student were engaged and ready to connect this year--in our Grady College resume critique days on Monday and Tuesday before Career Day, we reviewed 75 resumes. We also had 154 submissions to the resume book we send to event sponsors.
EVENTS FOR THE DAY
After introductions from Dean Davis and GAB President Bob Houghton, we started the panel, titled Kick-starting Your Career: Tips for New Professionals. Representatives from 11Alive, CBS46, Group M, Turner and WTOC shared advice and encouragement with our student attendees.
Prior to the career fair at 2 p.m., our employer participants connected with 105 students at our networking luncheon. To facilitate more targeted networking this year, we grouped the luncheon tables by interest areas.
