PRINCIPALS OF ENGINEERING CLASSES LEARN THE DESIGN PROCESS

Principles of Engineering students in Coach Burlison's class created a paper book cover using the concepts and steps of the Engineering Design Process. Students followed a multistep process using a designated design process. They had to go through each step in the process and explain what they did in each step to create the book cover. The principle of the project was to show the students what engineers go thru in the creative and design process. In addition, they must work with constraints and limitations of specific materials. In the end, they had to make sure that the cover would work with a textbook that was provided.

ATHLETICS THIS WEEK

FRESHMAN FOOTBALL

8TH GRADE FOOTBALL

The 8th Grade football team took on the Red Raiders of Hurst Jr High last night.

The A team had an impressive win 41-0. There were great performances across the board, as it was a total team effort. On Offense, Braylon Harris was calling the shots all night, running for 4 Touchdowns all over the Hurst Defense. Gery Sanchez and Jeremy Martinez chipped in Touchdowns of their own. The O-Line had a great night too, with Ivan Melendez and Frenson Wichep punishing the Hurst D-Line. Defensively the Broncos pitched a shutout behind aggressive play from Xzavier Williams, Tyler Cramer, and Asa Young. Paul Watkins, Levi Boyer, and Kody Scott all had huge turnovers on Defense as well.

The B team started the night on the right note, winning 26-0. Kie'von Fields scored 2 quick touchdowns to start the game, and Marco Tijerina and Usiris Moreno finished the game out with touchdowns of their own. The defense also blanked the Red Raiders behind efforts from Seven Riegel, Connor Brewer, and Shane Bonafiglia.

Both Teams look to build off this momentum next week when we play Central Jr High at Pennington Field

7TH GRADE FOOTBALL

Monday night the 7th-grade Broncos played crosstown rival Hurst Junior High.

B team was on fire as they played with poise, strength, and determination. The Broncos had great plays from Myles Still and Nathan Roe with a long TD pass for over 50 yards, with Anthony Price and Carlos Betancourt leading the way with a rushing score each. The final score was 18 to 0 with your broncos season record at 3 and 1. Shoutout to the starting O-Line! Pryce Alford, Sam Merritt, Aaron Islas, Petey "Pushin P" Vasquez, and Luke "The Duke" Tabor.

A team played the last game of the night against Hurst. Although they fought hard the Broncos came up short. The players of the game were Draven Thomas, Elijah Campos, Lincoln Bittinger, and Layton Moore. Next week the Broncos take on Central Junior High at Pennington Field. Come out and support.

FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL

The Freshman Lady Broncos have played a lot of volleyball in the last week! Friday night they took on Forney High School and absolutely obliterated the competition. They then traveled to Paradise, TX to compete in their final tournament of the season. The girls played Ponder, Bridgeport, and Decatur Highschools and won EVERY set taking home first place! Last night we competed against Central Junior High and again...took home a W! These girls are playing so well as a team and improving every set. Some highlights: Hannah Due, Presley Rivers, Emily Ventrca, Alina Vogt, and Macey Spicer have been absolutely dominating from the service line, picking apart the opposing serve receive. Tagan Henley, Natalie Luna, and Katrina Spencer have been playing phenomenal back row defense, as well as Briley Young, Avery Burgan, Hannah Due, Emily Ventrca, Presley Rivers, and Ella Trevino on the net. Our hitters couldn't do their thing without great sets from Macey Spicer & Gracie Schwartz. The girls look to take on Trinity this Friday at Bell at 6:30. We'd love a good home crowd! Come out to support!

Team 2 came out and made a statement first, taking down the Red Raiders in set one 25-18 and leaning on their service pressure led by Cora Berry, Eva Moore, and Gennisis Morales to seal the win in game two 25-17. Great back row passing by Kynzie Case, Juliana J, Brook Mclain, Ava Diviney, Alexis Tabor, and Brooklyn Carlson led to some great front row attacks by Aliya Johnson, Ayanna Weang, Aisha Tsing and Morgan Stralow.
