Penny Road’s Family to Family Giving Tree

Dear Parents/Guardians & Staff,

Penny Road Elementary is once again going to participate in a program which demonstrates the caring nature of our school community, while symbolizing the spirit of the holiday season.

Beginning the first week of December, holiday stars will decorate the ‘Giving Tree’ located in the school lobby. Each star represents a child or a sibling of a child in the Penny Road community experiencing special needs this season.

If your family would like to sponsor a child, please choose a star, locate the number on the back of the star, and take the corresponding envelope located in the bin/box by the tree. This will contain some information about the child which will help in choosing gifts. *If you would like your child to choose the star, please send a note with them to the front office indicating this…or e-mail me with approximate age(s), and if you want a boy/girl, and then I can send the info. home with your child.

Please limit spending to a maximum of $40 per child. Sizes will be provided in the envelope as well as any special wishes – if indicated.

If you choose to participate, please wrap the gift(s) or place them in a gift bag and return them to the front office by the MORNING of Thursday, Dec 12th.

Please make sure to include the number from the star somewhere on each item.

If you are interested in adopting a family instead of an individual, please e-mail me as soon as possible. (It is very hard for me to do this once the stars are on the tree).

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at or 919-387-2136 ext: 26177.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season!

Mrs. Jeanna Leauma, School Counselor
