PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia ora tātou,
What a beautiful three days we have had, weatherwise. It has meant that the children are outside more, playing and interacting with each other. The laughing and smiles show how important this play is. Play is learning and our tamariki play well.
The photo opposite is of our Principal from the start of 2023. It is terrific that Sarah McCord will be taking the reins. I look forward to helping her transition into the privileged principalship role at East.
Today our Year 5-6 rugby team played in the 10-a-side final against Levin North School. After being behind 1-6 at the break they rallied in the second half to score 5 times to North's four. A valiant effort, but not enough to take the title, with North winning 10-6. Great work team, and a huge thanks to Joe for coaching and Bailey for managing the team.
Tomorrow we have our Tama Toa breakfast. Sadly we had to limit the numbers because of the hall's capacity. My apologies to those who wanted to attend, but replied after the limit had been reached.
Kia pai tō wiki.
Ngā mihi
Rikki Sheterline
