District Update From Superintendent Price
Spring 2021 Intent Forms for Virtual or Remote/Hybrid/Prime
Parents, this is important information regarding second semester on whether you plan to go virtual or remote/hybrid/prime.
Please complete ONE intent form (see link below) per student enrolled at a Georgetown County School District home-based school. ALL students must have an intent form on file to be considered for the spring Virtual or Remote/Hybrid/Prime programs. Students without an intent form on file will automatically be enrolled into the Remote/Hybrid/Prime instructional model.
Due to the nature of the 4-year-old kindergarten (4K) curriculum and the age of the students, the virtual program WILL NOT be available for 4K students. ALL 4K students will be enrolled in Remote/Hybrid/Prime learning.
PLEASE NOTE: The spring 2021 intent form will open on November 18, 2020 and will close on November 30, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.

Hybrid Announcement
Weeks 13 & 14
Georgetown County School District will continue in HYBRID instruction for Week 13 (Nov. 30 - Dec. 4) and Week 14 (Dec. 7-11). The announcement is being made for two weeks due to the Thanksgiving holiday next week. This week's DHEC report showed Georgetown County's overall rating as MEDIUM for the third consecutive week. The Incidence Rate per 100,000 was up slightly over last week to 196.2. The Trend in Incidence rating rose from Low to Medium. The Percent Positive rating fell from 17.6% last week to 16.7% this week; this measure would have to drop below 10.0 to reduce the rating from High to Medium. Information on the number of cases in schools can be found on the COVID-19 Dashboard located on the district website www.gcsd.k12.sc.us.
DHEC is expected to release a report next week prior to the Thanksgiving break; as stated previously, if it shows a return to a HIGH rating that would not mean an immediate or mandatory return to REMOTE instruction. GCSD will announce the decision for Week 15, which begins on Monday, Dec.14, on Friday, Dec. 4.
