The Life of the Buddha
The story of the Buddha begins like a fairy tale.He was born a prince named Siddhartha Gautama around 563 B.C.His father ruled a kingdom in what is now Nepal,a country north of India according to legend a fortune prodicted two possible futers for the young prince.
The Protected Prince
Siddhartha was raised in wealth and luxury. "I wore garnments of silk," he recalled."Night and day I wore a white parasol (umbrella) was held over me so that I might not be touched by heat or cold,dust, leaves or dew.
