Carus School News
Families,
As we approach the winter break, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we've had so far this school year. The enthusiasm and dedication of our students, the unwavering support of our families, and the hard work of our exceptional educators have made this year truly remarkable. I feel extremely lucky to have joined the Carus community, my time here has surpassed my expectations beyond words.
As we bid farewell to this year and eagerly await the new one, let's carry the spirit of positivity, resilience, and determination with us. We are confident that the students here at Carus are experiencing big and small moments that make them feel happy and proud, and will continue to focus on this when we return in January.
We are wishing you all a joyful holiday season filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. May you have a wonderful winter break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year, ready for more learning adventures together!
Warm Regards,
Nicole Goff
Carus Principal
Lost and Found
The Carus lost and found is overflowing! Please remind your students to check for their things. Take a look at the pictures to see if there is anything you recognize. Parents, if you would like to come in and take a look, you can do so before or after school. All unclaimed items will be donated during Winter Break.
Vision Screening in January
Free Vision Screening for Carus will be on Tuesday, January 11. All students will be screened. If you would like to opt your student out of this, please contact the school.
We need two parent volunteers to help! Please respond to this email directly if you are interested in volunteering.

Winter Weather Prep
As the temperatures get colder, it’s time to start preparing for winter weather! If the weather is severe enough to cancel school, the first day of inclement weather will be a snow day for all! Any inclement weather day thereafter will be an online learning day. Elementary school families, this means you may see iPads come home with your students if questionable weather is forecasted.
In the event of an online learning day, Canby High School will begin at 8:40 a.m. and all other schools will begin at 9:30 a.m. Students should watch for Zoom links from their teachers. If students have trouble connecting or need help, they should reach out to their teacher. Canby School District strives to make the most of this valuable educational time, but please know that students will not be penalized if they are unable to connect.
To make sure you’re set to receive information about school delays, or closures, and online learning days, please subscribe to Canby School District on FlashAlert. Now is also a good time to update your text preferences online by listing your phone number.
For more information, please see our inclement weather page.
If the above flyer looks like something you or your family might be interested in attending, please click the button below to RSVP.
