Coloma Junior High

Comet Communication - November 18th

Leo Club - Food Drive

Our homerooms will be collecting canned goods and boxed items to benefit the food pantry at Hope Resources. The homeroom that collects the most, will earn a donut party for that homeroom class on November 29th.

Let’s show our community how great our school is and how much we care for those less fortunate. All items will be donated to our local food pantry at Hope Resources.

A few updates and reminders regarding our dismissal at the end of the day. Classes end at 3:00pm, buses are now leaving the Junior High/High School bus loop at 3:06pm.

Unless students are supervised by an adult, they must exit the building by 3:05. Study Hall is available Monday through Thursday from 3:05 - 4:05. It is highly recommended that if anyone needs to wait for a ride, that they are waiting in study hall. Students that need to only wait 10-15 minutes may wait quietly in the entry way.

Competitive Cheer

Competitive Cheer Try outs will be held on November 18th from 6pm - 8pm at the Intermediate. All students interested in participating should come prepared to practice with practice clothes and tennis shoes.

JH Annual Turkey Trot

Due to the weather last week, we have reschedule the annual Turkey Trot for Wednesday, November 20th. All 6th graders will run the 1 mile race for a grade. 7th and 8th graders may sign up in the main office to run. First place for each grade level will be awarded a turkey, 2nd place is a chicken and 3rd place will be awarded a cornish hen.

Be sure to dress for the weather that day! It is predicted to be mostly cloudy and 41 degrees.

Care Card Competition

Students are able to submit their design for Care Cards on Monday to their Homeroom Student Council Representative. A winning design will be announced on Tuesday.

Thank you Steve Grant

Last week, Steve Grant, former NFL linebacker, presented to our JH students. Mr. Grant played for both the Indianapolis Colts and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He spent time with grades 6-8 discussing the power of positive choices, having a vision for your life and setting goals. Mr. Grant shared his positive message and energy with our students. Thank you Sports World and Mr. Grant for this opportunity.
