Infomation on William Herschel
William Herschel became interested in astronomy when he was thirty five. He was employed by king George the third, after his many amazing discoveries. After he died ( 1822) his son ( John Herschel) kept going with his astronomy work. But sadly, never discovered anything.

William Herschel's telescope
Located in La Palma in Canary Island, William's telescope was built in 1983-1987. It is part of the Isaac Newton's group of telescopes.
Discoveries he has made
William Herschel discovered Uranus in 1781, Enceladus in 1789 along with Mimas also in 1789, Titania in 1787 and Oberon also in 1787.
