New Beginnings Class Newsletter
For the Week of 11/27-12/1
What We Worked On
Here's what we worked on this week:
Read Aloud- We read the story "The Shoemaker and the Elves" and "The Gingerbread Man." We worked on recalling details from a story and sequencing events in a story.
Skills- We reviewed the letter "G" and the number "7". We worked on the color yellow and the shape square. We've begun working on matching and sorting colors.
What Can I Do?
It's the perfect time of year to have your child help put on and take off their own outdoor clothing, including coat, hat, mittens, and boots. Have your child also practice pulling up and down their own zipper or snapping snaps.

Holiday Party
We will have our Holiday Party on December 21st at 9:30. Parents are welcome to attend. We will be having breakfast foods if you would like to contribute something to our party. We are asking that if students want to bring a gift in for their friends, that they make it a gift for everyone in the class to enjoy such as play-doh, coloring books, games, blocks, etc.
Dressing for the Weather
We are going to try to play outside for as long as possible. Please make sure your child has hats, mittens, and a warm coat.
It can also be on the cooler side in our classroom so you might want to send in an extra sweatshirt for your child to keep here.
Sickness
Our class seems to be getting hit hard with a virus. Remember that your child needs to be fever free for 24 hours before coming back to school. Please do what you think is best for your child and do not feel guilty about them missing school. If they are sick, they are not themselves and not really learning. We try our best, but we can't replace you for providing exactly what your child needs to feel better.
Thank you for all that you do to help us keep your child happy and well! We appreciate it so much!
Remind App
We've had some trouble reaching parents this year as some of our numbers still have not been updated. I've been the most successful reaching parents through our Remind app. Please consider signing up for it.
If you have used Remind in the past with me, please update to our class for this year. Here's what you need to do:
- Send a text to the number 81010 with the message @3h29992
- Download the Remind app and then put in the code "@3h29992" to join our class.
