A Special Thank You to our Vernfield Teachers and Staff!

This past week was National Teacher Appreciation Week, and the HSA Hospitality Committee (with money earned from fundraising efforts) arranged for lunch to be provided for both in-person and SAOA teachers on Thursday, May 6th. For in-person teachers and staff, the Scratch Kitchen food truck was onsite delivering pre-ordered lunches. Some of the SAOA teachers were able to join us at the school, but for those who weren't, restaurant gift cards will be provided to them to purchase lunch at their convenience.

We hope that all of our Vernfield teachers and staff know how much the parents and students appreciate the hard work they have put in to make this school year a success!

PSSA Update from Dr. Graf - April 7, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

In compliance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires all public school districts in the Commonwealth to administer the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) in English language arts, mathematics, and science.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the dates of the testing window for the 2020-2021 school year were expanded by PDE to provide schools with more flexibility regarding when to administer the assessment. All testing, including for SAOA students, must occur in-person and schools are expected to make a good faith effort to test all eligible students within the parameters of local health and safety plans.

For additional information regarding Souderton Area School District and PSSA's please visit:

Vernfield Elementary will be conducting PSSA testing on the following dates:
