OCCT Materials and Additional Orders

Most of you have gone through your boxes and are determining the best way to utilize your test booklets to accommodate small groups. Let's talk about the craziness of 5th grade science...there are 15 test forms! When you're setting up your read aloud groups, you may need to schedule groups of 3 or you can always email testing to get a few more copies of booklets. Form 1 in science is becoming extremely scarce in my pile- I have ordered more though.

Please remember to include the following information when you order more materials:

  • Grade Level
  • Subject
  • Type (i.e. Test Book or Answer Document)
  • Number
  • Specify which form is needed

The Enrollment Center hours are 8am-4:30pm. Any staff member from your school is welcome to pick up these materials as long as they have a TPS badge.

Tips for Student Success- grades 4-6 Paper/Pencil

You may show students what an answer document looks like for for students in grades 4-8 taking paper/pencil tests. Let them know that multiple test answers will be recorded onto the one answer document. This is especially important to address with students taking tests in 5th and 8th grades as they have four subjects recorded into one document. Talk with students about tracking on the answer document and how to erase without smearing previously recorded answers and prevent erasing through the page.

Remember, you may only show the students the answer document prior to the testing session, not the test book!

NEW-- Testing Plans

Principals have been asked to complete an online testing plan to identify key dates essential for meeting state requirements in preparing for testing. Additionally, principals are asked to identify the person primarily responsible for pre-administration, during administration, and post-administration practices. BTCs are asked to assist principals in providing information, however, we ask that the principal complete the survey as they must digitally sign an assurance on the questionnaire. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Erin for assistance.

ELL 1st Year exemptions

The list of qualifying ELL students for the exemption is posted on PD360 under the 'Tulsa Public Schools BTCs' group. Look under RESOURCES on the right side and choose the 2016 OCCT Resources folder.

Online Practice tests

The online practice tests are available for grades 6-8 and EOI tested subjects. Please use the student log in on your computers and access the practice tests through the testing icon. Chromebooks, laptops and desktops may be used for testing. Please use the following information to access the tests:

Grades 6-8:

  • Student Login: practice
  • Password: testing

EOI (End-of-Instruction)

  • Student Login: practice
  • Password: oklahoma

Online Access Codes

A new security measure has been put in place for on-line testers. Session Access Codes will be required for each on-line test session.

This documentation provides clarification on this enhanced security step within the Test Preparation Manual. The new Session Access Codes information is inserted immediately following Test Sessions on page 17 and it continues through to page 19.

PEARson OAAP

The special education teachers administering the OAAP tests in social studies should all have access to the Oklahoma Pearson Access Next website. Please note, upon first logging into Pearson, the program defaults users to the WINTER 2015-16 test session. Please inform your teachers to change the drop down to SPRING 2015-16 in the upper right corner of the screen.

Teachers will upload student evidence by clicking on TESTS> STUDENT TESTS. Click on the down arrow next to the blue SEARCH button and select the box to 'Show All Results'. Then, select the task 'Score Alternative Student Tests'.

The SDE has a PowerPoint posted for the OAAP Pearson training on their website. Share this with your OAAP special education teachers~ Save yourself some time and jump ahead to Slide 14.

All Pearson portfolios must be completed by May 1st.

Online Training Modules

Spring 2016 Test Proctor & Test Administrator Training Modules are now available on the MP Help and Support website.
  • Test proctors and administrators may download and view this year's training.
  • Each module has a quiz for understanding and a printable certificate of completion at the end.
  • BTCs must keep copies of training certificates for TAs and Proctors who take advantage of the online training modules in their testing binder. You will only have TAs and Proctors sign your form in the binder if you trained them.

DLM Testing UPdates

The testing window for spring DLM is from March 28-May 6. The district date for DLM has been set a week prior to the end of the state testing window in order to accommodate end of year testing. Also, the DLM tests must have both a trained test administrator and trained proctor in the room at all times.

We have recently been notified that DLM is randomly selecting students for field testing (all subjects, all grades). The test tickets for these testlets have an 'R' notation in the testlet name.
