Every Kids Votes!

On Tuesday, November 1st, students in kindergarten through 3rd grade will be participating in Every Kid Votes, a nation-wide mock election to promote citizenship and provide students with a fun hands-on voting experience. For the past three elections, Every Kid Votes' mock election has predicted the outcome of the official election on November 8th! We are very excited to give students a chance to use a polling booth, send them home with an "I Voted" sticker, and teach lessons that help to explain the voting process and our right as citizens to take part.

Ms. Kelly, the Guidance Counselor, came to our class this week!

She did a fun "Citizenship Ant" activity. It's purpose was to teach the students about how ants work together and are citizens of their community. She used this as a metaphor of how we can be good citizens in our community!

Hillcrest Orchards Filed Trip!

1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students will be heading on a field trip to Hillcrest Orchards on Wednesday, October 26th. All the kids will participate in a wagon ride through the orchards, around the pond, and through the woods, visit an apple and honey bee museum, learn about animals and visit a petting zoo, hold a baby chick, watch and maybe participate in milking a cow, cheer on some pigs in a pig race, and enjoy some fresh apples and apple cider!

Please make sure you send your child with their signed form and $13.00!

We will be able to wear comfortable bottoms and tennis shoes for this field trip, but all students should wear their RED uniform polo. All students must also pack a sack lunch for this trip!
