Fall Parties
Fall classroom parties will be held Wednesday, October 31st. The Head Room Parent, with the guidance of the classroom teacher, will organize and plan the classroom party, which should not last longer than one hour. If you are providing snacks, please refer to the district wellness policy. Some classrooms may be nut free. While we love for families to be a part of the fun, remember that class parties should be for Cottonwood students only.
Regarding costumes, the following is requested:
- Costumes must be brought to school in a sack and the children will put them on at their party time.
- Children should not wear costumes that are frightening or gruesome. Imitation weapons are NOT permitted.
- Do not bring makeup and hairspray to school.
- Children will return to their school clothes before dismissal.
Party times will vary throughout the day:
Kindergarten 9:30-10:30 (Kindergarten students may come in costume to school, but should be ready to return to regular school clothes when the party is over)
1st grade 10:00-11:00
2nd grade (Travis, Davis, Hachen 1:30-2:30) Wood 10:00-11:00
3rd grade 2:30-3:30

Celebrating Veterans and Military Families
November 8th, we would like to say "Thank You" to our Veteran's and military families. We will have a school wide program in the gym from 1:30-2:30 and then we invite our heros to the cafeteria for cookies, pictures and punch with your family 2:30-3:00.
Please RSVP to your child's teacher, Mrs. Rooks or the office staff by November 4th. You can call us at 218-4620 or email at rookss@usd385.org. We would like to know the number of guests who will be attending and your student’s name.
.
We ask that students in 4th and 5th grade wear red, 2nd and 3rd grade wear white and students in grades Kindergarten and 1st grade wear blue as a sign of Cottonwood's patriotism.
Camp Cottonwood
This camp is for our families to learn more about Cottonwood. Make plans to learn more about how our building uses technology, Pathways, Flipgrid, safety, Redesign, Love and Logic or just network with other parents. A complete guide of sessions will be sent home soon.
Plan to join us on November 14th from 6:00-7:30. Childcare will be provided by AHS National Honor Society members. We ask that children be of school-age only.
If you have something you would like to know more about, send Mrs. Rooks an email. We want to share what we know about Cottonwood and we want to make this an evening that will help you and your family.

Nurse's News
Tis the season of sickness. Do not forget your flu shot. Remember to talk about good hand washing and mouth covering when coughing and sneezing. District policy states that students must stay home for fever and vomiting, and may not return to school until the student is 24 hours fever free or vomit free without medication. Let's all stay healthy this year.
Did you know you can sign up for notifications in CareDox? If you want to get an alert when your child visits the nurse, check out your CareDox page and you can turn on or off the notifications. The health office staff continues to review Care Dox. Parents are required to complete and/ or review their student’s health information in Care Dox each academic year and electronically sign.
The health office is in need of clothing donations. Currently, we are in need of boys and girls underwear, socks and gently used shoes of all sizes.
If you are interested in volunteering in the health office during screenings, please email the school nurse at rebeld@usd385.org
