PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
As we approach the end of the school year, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for your ongoing support and partnership. Your dedication and involvement have played a vital role in fostering a positive and enriching environment for our high school students. We are immensely proud of the determination and accomplishments of our students. Thank you for entrusting us with the education of your children!
REGENTS EXAMS
NYS Regents exams begin on June 1st and then continue June 14th-June 22nd.
June 1st US History Exam occurs on a day when classes are also in session. Students taking the Regents exam will be excused from their morning classes. Teachers will review testing locations and have been reviewing during classes. Please note that electronic devices are not permitted; all electronic devices will be a collected to ensure that we meet this NYS requirement. Students will retrieve their belonging after the exam.
If your student needs a devices for documented medical conditions, please know that we will communicate with you directly so that they can continue their medical care plan.
June 14-22- Students ONLY report for the exams listed on the attached chart; there are no classes during these dates. You will notice a few local exams also indicated on the chart. Students should report at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam so that they can turn in electronic devices and settle in before the test begins. The start times are 8am for morning exams and Noon for after noon exams.
All other local exams will be delivered through classes. Teachers will communicate with students and with you. If you have questions, please reach out to the teacher first, then the school counselor. We are here to help!
Uplift Activity Survey
Uplift Irondequoit (formerly Drug-Free Irondequoit) has asked our district and East Irondequoit to, with help from their families, to share a survey with our students to gather information around youth and extra-curricular activities in our town.
Please take a few minutes to help inform the types of activities you would like to see, where they would ideally take place and what barriers may exist that prevent participation. This survey is voluntary and you may stop at any time. We appreciate you taking a few minutes to help. All responses will be kept confidential and your participation is appreciated.
UPDATES FROM SCHOOL COUNSELORS
- Counselors will be working with all seniors during an English class to complete a senior survey. This will include updating all information in Naviance related to final decisions regarding post high school plans. Final high school transcripts are generated and sent to the school of choice through this information gathered from the survey. Students requiring final transcripts sent to NCAA Eligibility Center is also included in this process. If anything changes with your plans after completing the survey, you will need to reach out to the Counseling Center which is staffed throughout the summer to update where final transcripts should be sent. Transcripts are finalized with senior year grades by early July.
For students who earned dual enrollment credit through MCC or RIT during high school, you will need to request an official transcript directly from that college for your credits to transfer to the school of your choice. Visit those college websites or contact their Registrar’s Office for more information on how to request a transcript. To send AP scores, you need to log into your College Board account, and there is an option to send your scores to the college of your choice.
NURSING UPDATES
Health Office Reminders:
~ Any students who have a long term elevator pass, please return them to the Health Office by 3PM on June 7th. We will let you use them on a daily basis after that.
~ NYS requires all students entering 12th grade to have proof of a meningococcal immunization that was administered after their 16th birthday. For most students, this will be their second immunization.
~ If your student is entering 9th or 11th grade, NYS requires them to have a current Physical Exam on file in the Health Office. Please plan accordingly.
~ Fall athletes need Physical Exams dated no earlier than 8/1/22 to be cleared for participation.
