Youth Government Information
Capital Junior student, Jackson McEwan, was invited to join the Idaho State Youth Government Committee. Jackson traveled to Sacramento over President's Day weekend and attended the California state Youth Government event where he learned how that state runs their program. Jackson will continue to serve on the state committee throughout the school year.
During the month of March, all senior Government class students will travel to the Idaho Statehouse where they will observe committee hearings, open debate on the Senate and House of Representatives floor, and meet with legislators. This field trip enhances the curriculum of the state and local government unit.
