Monroe Memo
June, 2022
A Message From Mrs. Friis
Dear Monroe Elementary Families:
As the final days of school approach, I would like to acknowledge the hard work of our staff and students this school year.
I'd like to thank our PTA for their work to continue their fundraising efforts; as a result, new playground equipment will be installed at Monroe this summer!
On behalf of the Monroe Elementary staff, I would also like to take this time to thank all of our families for your support and partnership this school year. We would appreciate it if you found time to check around your residences for any library books, classroom books, or other items to be returned to school.
As we get closer to the end of this school year we are also thinking about next school year. We are currently working on class lists for 2022-2023. While I believe that every student can excel in any teacher's classroom, I also understand that parents may want an opportunity to describe how they see their child as a learner so we have additional information when determining each student's placement. In lieu of requests for specific teachers, parents may choose to complete a learning style compatibility form. Please email me at friisa@mpsd.school to obtain a form. Forms must be turned in by June 10.
As we move through summer, be sure to check your mailboxes, text messages, and email inboxes for updates and information related to the next school year.
Have a safe and happy summer break!
Mrs. Friis
Field Day Fun!
Monore Field Day will be on Monday, June 6, in the afternoon.
In the event of rain, we will have Field Day on Tuesday, June 7.
The activities will be held outside, so please make sure your child has on tennis shoes (no sandals or flip flops, please), comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Field Day will end with a popsicle treat!
Medication Pick Up Reminder
If your child has any medication in the school office, it must be picked up on or before Thursday, June 9. Unfortunately, we cannot send medications home with students due to the high risk of loss and abuse of the medicines.
Any medications not picked up will be discarded on Friday, June 10, 2022.
