COVID Update
A quick update from our first nine weeks of school:
- 6 positive tests among SMS students
- 37 students quarantined (from 5 internal and 4 external exposures)
In addition, as we enter the flu season, we encourage you to keep sick kids home and report all symptoms when calling your child in ill.
Parent Drop Off - Pick Up
Drop Off - Please remember that the 7:30 classroom supervision is intended for students riding the early bus routes. If at all possible, we ask that parent drop off and walkers arrive as close to our 8:10 start time as possible.
Parent Pick Up - Thank you with your patience as we attempt to get the buses out of the lot in a safe and timely manner. We realize that the additional stop signs don't speed up your exit, but we believe it is a safer process for all.

America Day Our 8th Grade Peer Leaders coordinated a Spirit Week earlier in the year. Highlighted here is a tribute to our service men and women on America Day. | Pod Themes Perhaps the most inspiring day of our Spirit Week was the opportunity for pods to come up with their own theme. Shown here is 6B / Pod I and their Wizard of Oz theme. | Mitigation & Return to Learn Staff members continue to do an amazing job of providing students with a safe learning environment. Mitigation strategies definitely prohibit us from providing students with the typical middle school experience, but we are doing our best to move forward with a "business as usual" approach within the established guidelines. |
