Homecoming Parade
We had a great staff turn out for our Homecoming float. We had about 40 staff members come to ride the float and pass out candy.
Red Ribbon Week
Our students concluded the Red Ribbon week by writing essays of the importance of being Drug Free. Each classroom teacher selected the best essay and the winning students had breakfast with the KISD police department. Eight students were selected from the twenty-eight finalists to read their essays for the Lions Roar this month.
PTO Fall Festival
On October 30, our PTO had its second annual Fall Festival. Parents, teachers, and high school volunteers helped run the carnival games and sell concessions in the cafeteria. We had hundreds of students attend. It was a great evening of fun and fellowship for our students and their families.
Kaufman Lions Football and Third grade
Coach Burleson is bringing the Varsity football team over on Fridays to eat with three of our third grade classes. The boys spread out among the three classes and visit with the students. Positive relationships are forming and our students are loving the chance to interact with these positive role models.
Community Outreach
Our students have been busy in Art class the last few weeks drawing Thanksgiving pictures for the Kaufman Christian Help Center to use for their Thanksgiving baskets. Every basket donated to a family will be adorned with a sweet Thanksgiving picture from a student at Phillips.
