Dear Winter Park Band families,
I hope everyone made it through Hurricane Nicole safe and healthy! I also hope everyone is taking advantage of the little bit of extra practice time over the extended weekend.
Well, our year of staying on our toes with the schedule continues! This week's schedule includes a couple of events rescheduled from the end of last week.
All-County Band & Jazz Auditions will still be taking place as scheduled on Monday, 11/14. Student auditioning should be sure to plan in enough time to arrive at Lake Buena Vista HS at least 30 minutes before your audition time to have plenty of time to find your room, warm up, and be ready to perform at your best. Best to luck!!!
The football playoff game from Friday, 11/11, has been rescheduled to Monday, 11/14. Please see the updated itinerary on the Band website. The SOTW will be in full band Pep Band mode, playing in the stands and not marching the show. The uniform is our 2022 Show Shirt, jeans, and athletic shoes. All students who are not auditioning for this year's All-County Band & Jazz Band will be performing at the football game. Students performing an All-County audition will be excused.
Wednesday, 11/16, we will hold the rescheduled version of the 8th Annual Fall Festival of Bands in the WPHS Auditorium.The evening includes performances by the Audubon Park School Symphonic Band, Glenridge Middle School Symphonic Band, Maitland Middle School Wind Ensemble, Winter Park Wind Symphony, combined students from APS, GMS, and MMS along with the Wind Symphony, the SOTW Color Guard, and the SOTW Marching Band to top it all off! It is a night celebrating the entirety of the Winter Park Band community and the success of our 6 - 12th grade program. The concert is free and open to the public, as are all our home Band concerts, so invite all your family and friends!

Due to the rescheduled events this week, our 9th annual Night of Jazz will now take place on Tuesday, January 31. We hope to see you at our community event that features the Glenridge MS Jazz Band, Maitland MS Jazz Band, and all three WPHS Jazz Ensembles! Free and open to the public.

Hi Band Family! I don’t know about you all, but the break that Hurricane Nicole provided was kinda nice. Back at it refreshed this week, with the rescheduled Fall Festival of Bands Wednesday evening. This is such a great community concert and a perfect opportunity to show these middle schoolers how awesome band is in high school. Looking forward to the smiles and applause from Wednesday’s audience already!
And Nicole brought us a rescheduled playoff football game, of course! We’re still in need of about five chaperones for Monday evening’s game (yes, tomorrow!). And just so you all don’t get too used to a non-band kind of week, also on Monday night are All-County auditions .. best of luck to those students auditioning at Lake Buena Vista High School!
Next week is Thanksgiving break .. where has the year gone?! And immediately after next week, we’re into December and TWO HOLIDAY PARADES that first Saturday back to school. And, you guessed it, we’re still shy on chaperones for those parades. Pleeeease consider chaperoning a playoff game or parade, even if you’ve never chaperoned before. Such a great way to get to know these kids, get some steps in, and meet some other really cool adults too!

Super easy! Super fun! And GREAT COMPANY!!

Butter Braid Fundraiser - Orders Due This Wednesday!
Butter Braid Wrap-up
Hello all! We will be wrapping up our Butter Braid fundraiser. Hope all has gone well. Here are a few things to know:
- All orders, both paper and online, are due Wednesday Nov 16.
- Online orders were paid for when ordered. Paper orders must have a payment turned in with the order form. Options are check made out to WPHS Band, school pay or cash. Any payments and paper order forms turned in must be turned in altogether please:) Make sure payment matches order!!!!!
- Orders will be delivered Dec 14. More details about pickup to come!
