Science
In Science we have been exploring different habitats and animal adaptations. Students should be able to explain what adaptations an animal needs to survive in a given habitat, and whether or not a certain animal could survive in a given habitat. This week we worked in groups to research a habitat and make a model/poster to present to the class. Next week we will be covering basic genetics and how traits are passed down.
Social Studies
In Social Studies we have been reviewing government organization and functions. We have looked at examples of current bills in the house and senate, the process of a bill becoming a law, and how courts interpret laws and help resolve conflict. In the next couple weeks we will be reviewing early Michigan history

Math
This week, students took their Chapter 8 Fractions Test and completed the Math portion of the MSTEP test. Over the next few weeks we will continue to work on comparing fractions and finding equal fractions. Students will also be introduced to Geometry.
REMINDER: Any low assignment your child brings home may be redone at home! I average the two scores for a new, updated score in Skyward. I believe students can and should learn from their mistakes.
