The Weekly Hoot
May 25 - May 31, 2020
Greetings All -
Happy Thursday! We have started summer hours now, so the Hoot should be coming out on Thursdays for awhile. I hope all of you are enjoying your first official week of zoomless summer!
What a success the End of School Parade was! Thanks to all of you it was great! I saw so many happy students and parents that were glad to see you! I know you felt the same. It just goes to show what a special school community we have created. I hope we never have to end school like this again, but if we do, I am certain a parade will be in the works.
Our custodians and Mr. Lee have been busy this week! Here are the rooms that are waxed and ready to be moved back into starting on Saturday:
Mrs. Lee
Mrs. Wagner
Mrs. Gessner
New SPED teacher
Speech/Sensory Room
Teacher's Lounge
Mrs. Buckley
Mrs. Strahan
Mrs. Myers
Mrs. Wyatt
Mrs. Amanda Sechelski
Mrs. McCrary
Mrs. Brzozowski
That was fast, huh??
This past week, we have been working on finishing up stuff for this school year. Next week, I am going to be getting busy on the upcoming school year. That means sending you more information about the House System (but of course you can google that and send me ideas as well), the master schedule, and other things. One thing I did do yesterday (and it probably sent you a few emails) was to set up a calendar for Hoot Loot passes in Google Calendar. I have also updated the Anderson-Shiro Elementary Activities calendar and will be utilizing it this upcoming year rather than the list of activities. Make sure you can see both of those, and if not, let me know so I can invite you again.
Lastly, to go along with our new House System and because I feel like it is appropriate with what all has transpired over the past few weeks, our theme for next year will be "Welcome Back to Our House." We will be divided into four "houses" by a completely random draw. More on that later, but the colors of the four houses will be red, blue, green, and yellow, so any kind of fun stuff with those primary colors will be perfect for decorating. I feel like we will utilize the kids to do more stuff as far as decorating the halls, etc... so there won't be a big push to have your hallway decorated. More on all of the House stuff is coming in the next couple of weeks. For now, I just wanted you to know that would be our theme for the school overall. Anything you want to do as a team or individually to decorate outside of your room in the hallway will be up to you all.
I think that is it for now. I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Enjoy!
Love to all,
Marcy
