That's A Wrap: Quarter One
ELITE last week of the nine! I am very proud that we were able to offer three grade level out of the school experiences for our scholars that alinged with our content and curriculum and allowed our scholars to have real life social, emotional learning experiences. Great work!
Please read the reminders so you can feel good coming into quarter two after fall break.
A few reminders and reviews for the week:
- SMILE! Be Happy! #BeELITEInYour20SquareFeet: Your body language talks
- Monday: Teacher work day. Teachers that are part of the curriculum planning will be at the BOE, Teachers who are here are expected to be working on lesson designs. I will email individually for meetings. If you are going to the BOE for RCD, dress is professional. Dress here for the work day can be casual.
- October Selfie Reading Challenge beginning over FALL BREAK
- Progress reports will be going home Oct. 11. The work habit rubric that the district rolled out is not able to be uploaded into Powerschool at this time. We will just be reporting on grades only. The work habit rubric is a good tool to use for communication with parents regarding soft skills of our scholars. Please make sure you are using to for both "great job" and "room to grow" If you need a copy of this rubic, please see KAT. They were sent out at the beginning of the year in the grading meetings. Grades need to be finalized by 10/10. We will be printing reports Thursday morning.

What I'm Reading.... (The •5)
Fall Break is the perfect time to get into that good book that you have been putting off! I am excited to finish Hello, Universe, the middle school fiction read I started two weeks ago. I have also ordered a few new good professional books to add to the shelves in my office. We are encouraging our scholars over break to read, read, read by promoting the October Selfie Book Challenge. Take some time to get into a good book and participate with our scholars in the October Selfie book challenge!

Student Growth Percentiles
Student Growth Percentiles (SGP) A student growth percentile (SGP) describes a student's growthcompared to other students with similar prior test scores (their academic peers). Although the calculations for SGPs are complex, percentiles are a familiar method of measuring students in comparison to their peers.
We will meet regarding these results and the impact they will have on our CCRPI score vertical alignment content PLC meetings. I will be scheduling those meetings. When you look at your personal student growth percentile, how do you measure? You should know there are teachers who have 80 and higher on the SGP measure. Also note, we are in the design process for next school year. Continue to do the ELITE work you are doing, but know that changes from a team and content stand point are in the future.
PBIS Update:Data and Discipline
August 2017 28 Majors 201 Minors
August 2018 23 Majors 195 Minors
17% decrease in MAJOR referral behavior
September 2017 24 Majors , 225 MINORS
Septebmer 2018: 45 MAJORS, 227 MINORS
Increase in both majors and minors
Take some time during fall break to reflect on your classroom leadership practices? Consider using some time Monday on 10/8 to reivew and refresh those expectations with your scholars.
