At Home Learning
As educators, we continue to work hard on providing learning opportunities for ALL of our children. We have tried to be extremely mindful that every home is different, we need and want to stay connected to our learners, and we DO NOT want to overwhelm families. That too will happen in different ways. As we share lessons for the week, you might have noticed that the art, music and PE lessons are targeted to fit ALL Magee learners. This was done intentionally for three reasons. The first reason is that if each specialist pushed out a lesson for each time they saw a child, that could result in 6-7 additional activities for students. The second reason is that if lessons were pushed out by grade level, some families could have an additional 18-21 activities per week! THAT woud most certainly overwhelm famiies - and teachers! And third, learners and families could work on the activites together rather than having so many different things to keep track of.
What we know is that we are continuing to find a balance, and that balance looks different in every home. Thank YOU for your continued support of not only your learners, but our staff as well!
Principal Chat on Google Meet!

Our next call will be on GOOGLE MEET on Thursday, May 14 at 6PM. The link for all calls will be meet.google.com with the name Sterner.
This Thursday we will be discussing the feedback from the recent Parent Survey sent out by the district.

We hope you and your families are staying safe during this outbreak of respiratory disease caused by COVID -19 across the world. It's important to remain supportive of each other, and realize that all individuals can minimize the chances of spreading coronavirus by washing hands often, staying home when sick, and covering any coughing or sneezing with a tissue. The CDC does recommend wearing a mask or face covering in a public setting as many people do not know they have the disease; the mask protects people from becoming exposed to COVID -19 as the virus can linger in the air longer than they originally thought.
Please remember that KM outdoor facilities as well as playgrounds are closed and not available for use during this time as an additional means of stopping the spread of the virus. Anyone who becomes sick with symptoms more severe than an ordinary cold is advised to seek medical care. Please know that our Health Services Webpage has information you may find helpful and that KM is here to support you!
Wishing you healthy days ahead as we are hopefully on the road to recovery in our communities. Please inform the Health Room staff via email if your child has been exposed to or have been tested for COVID-19 as we continue to track illnesses in our community. We are here to help.
Take care, and wash your hands!

Lunch For ALL Families
There have been some additional questions regarding KMSD Lunches - FREE lunches are available for ALL CHILDREN 18 and UNDER in a household.
Thank you for your cooperation with this!
If you have questions, please email KMSD Director of Nutrition Services, Joe Claas at claasj@kmsd.edu.
Student KMSD Email Accounts
A reminder that student email accounts should be used for KMSD educational purposes only. They should not be used to sign up for other social media or online activities such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Although most of our students are too young for the requirements of these platforms, it does happen. If you wish to sign your child up, you would need to create a different email account not associated with KMSD. Please let me know if you have any questions.
