Definition and Statistics
OCD is an uncontrollable obsession or impulses that causes repetitive actions. People with OCD are driven to do these repetitive actions and if they don't act on the impulse it causes them anxiety and stress. In 2013 around 2.2 million American adults were diagnosed with OCD. This disorder affects men and women of any age or race.

Why you should know about OCD and why I chose OCD
OCD is a common disorder that many Americans have. You should know the basics about OCD because it is such a common disorder for people to have. A lot of people say they have OCD because they like to have things organized but just because someone likes to have things organized does not mean they have OCD. I wanted to do OCD because i knew the basics about the disorder but I didn't want know a ton about it and i wanted to learn more about it.
