News from School to Home
Upcoming Events
Normally we send our newsletter on Mondays, but we decided to send it early so that you would have a reminder for pictures on Monday. We hope everyone has a great weekend!
Santa pictures will be taken on Monday the 7th. Each student will receive a free picture with Santa to take home. You can also order larger pictures through the PTO. See your note for more details.
Skateboard parade will be held on the 18th. Students can decorate a Christmas float on skateboard or another surface that can be wheeled around. Students will push or pull their floats around the hallway at 8:15 that morning for the student body. Student K-4 can participate. Mrs. Phillips will send a flyer with more information in the coming week. Parents are welcome to watch the parade if they would like. We will host a sing along for our students immediately following the parade.
Teachers will send home class party information soon.
Toy & Coat Drive
We will be collecting new toys and new or gently used coats for the holidays.
These items will be donated to Cabot Christmas Alliance. These donations will be used for students in our school or in our school district.
This a great way to show each other we care. Thank you for all you do for the students and families here at Westside.
Christmas Around the World
We are very excited to provide our students with a new opportunity this year. On December 17th we are going to have a day to celebrate culture and Christmas traditions. Students will receive their very own passports to travel around the world. Each hall will be decorated to represent a specific country and students will participate in different learning opportunities at each stop. I can't wait to share pictures with you of this great learning experience.
Lunch Charges in Cafeteria
You can also take advantage of the options to prepay your student's meal accounts. Prepaid meal accounts gives you the peace of mind of not having to worry about looking for lunch money every day or worry that it might get lost, stolen or used for other things other than lunch. Pre-K button is below.
Cell Phones Prohibited in Car Lines
Cell phones are prohibited in our car lines.
- Act 27-51-1609 states “…a driver of a motor vehicle shall not use a handheld wireless telephone while operating a motor vehicle when passing a school building or school zone during hours when children are present and outside the building.”
Help us keep kids safe by not using your phone in the school area.
Box Tops & Labels for Education
Continue to send in box tops and labels. We want to make sure that we remain the top school for Cabot.
This month our overall winner was Mrs. Kinder's class with 1,329 box tops!! PTO will provide the class with a pizza party.
