This Week at St. Stan's

National Hispanic Heritage Month

Last week marked the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage month. Over the next several weeks, teachers will be engaging students in lessons and activities that recognize Hispanic culture as well as the contributions of Hispanic-Americans throughout the history of the United States. We hope that this time is valuable to both students and families as we recognize the contributions of Latinx people in making our communities vibrant.

No School - Friday, September 24

There will be no school this Friday. Teachers will be engaging in an Archdiocesan-wide professional development day to improve their teaching and learning practices. Please contact the main office if you have any questions or concerns.

FSP Free & Reduced Lunch Survey

Last week, your child brought home a letter/survey that was distributed by Food Service Professionals. I ask that each family complete and send that survey back to the school by the end of this week. The information we gather from this form is very important because it helps to determine our eligibility for state and federal funding that can be used to benefit the educational experience of our students. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Gentle Reminders

Covid-19 Safety Protocols

Thank you to all families who have observed our Covid-19 protocols over our first month of school. I want to clarify a point regarding returning to school after an absence. If a student was absent from school and exhibited Covid-like symptoms for 24-hours or more, a negative Covid test or doctor's note must be obtained before the student returns to school. Please be sure, however, to keep your child home if they continue to exhibit symptoms such as fever or cough even if a negative test/doctor's note is obtained.

Test results and/or doctor's notes should be shared with the main office prior to a student's return to school. We appreciate everyone's vigilance in keeping our community safe and healthy throughout the school year.

Leader in Me MRA Survey

We want to be diligent in evaluating the effectiveness of all of the programs we offer at St. Stan's. This year, we will conduct the Measurable Results Assessment (MRA) twice in order to assess culture, academics, and student leadership in our school community as well as the overall impact of the Leader in Me program. I ask that all families complete this survey as soon as possible. The link will only be active for two weeks.

Please click on this link to access the Fall 2021 MRA. Again, this information is vital for us to assess points of strength and areas of growth throughout the year. Your honest feedback and comments are appreciated in advance.

Clicking on the link below will bring you to our revised Parent-Student Handbook for the 2021-22 school year. There have been some changes made compared to previous years, so I encourage that all families read it closely. Additionally, all parents/guardians must acknowledge that you have read/received the handbook and understand the policies within.
