A Message from Proud Principal, Laura Clark

What an honor it was to receive the Governor's Silver Award at Thursday night's Board of Education Meeting! We received the Silver Award for being one of the highest performing schools in our state. For three consecutive years, Parsons' students have scored in the 95th percentile compared to other elementary schools in Georgia. Parsons was one of twenty seven schools in the district to receive a Governor's award. Our banner and award will be on display for all to see. We truly are Achieving and Believing!

We have another exciting event coming up on Tuesday...STEM Night! We hope you can come join in the fun from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm as students engage in all things STEM. The teachers and staff have planned a fun filled night for all.

Proud to be your Principal,

Mrs. Clark

Car Rider Safety Concern

Parents of car riders in the am: We are having some safety issues that are very alarming that we need your immediate attention. Car riders is open to drop off your students from 8:20 to 8:50 am. We have parents that are running late that are dropping students off after the bell has rung. Sometimes they are getting out of the car in the parking lot even before they are close to the sidewalk. Once the bell rings, our staff members must come inside to begin the school day. If you see the staff members coming in the building with the sign stating that you are late, you must bring your student in to the front office and check them in. We cannot let them in the side door after the bell rings. Also, you may not go through the front parking lot of the school and cut through the car rider line. The entrance to car riders in the am is the far driveway. Thank you for your assistance with this concern and help keeping our students safe.

STEM Night

Parsons Elementary School

Tuesday, January 28, 2020

6:00 - 8:00 PM

All Parsons families are invited to join us for STEM Night. Students and their families will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of STEM related activities. This year we are also starting a new tradition. During STEM Night, we are asking that all students sign up for a 15 minute time period to share the excellent STEM and PBL work they have done in their classrooms. White this is not required, it does provide students an excellent opportunity to practice their communication skills and share what they have learned with our school community. They are then free to spend the rest of STEM Night enjoying the STEM activities and seeing what other students are sharing. You can find a link for your child to sign up to share their STEM learning in your child's class newsletter. Please note that each grade level has its own sign up, so please don't sign up children in different grade levels using the same link. Thanks for supporting the awesome STEM learning happening at Parsons!

Afternoon Transportation

All transportation changes must be made in writing.Whenever you need to make a change to your child's afternoon transportation plan, please complete an Afternoon Transportation Change Form, which can be found here or on our school's website, and send it in to your child's teacher. We will utilize this form to create the appropriate afternoon transportation pass. Please remember the GCPS Bus Rule: No passes will be issued for play dates, birthdays, weekend sleepovers, etc. For security reasons we DO NOT accept transportation changes through phone calls or emails.
