Planning Time Reimbursement via IST Substitutes

November 3 In-Service Day
A half day is designated for report card planning and conferences and the other half day will be the following. Teachers will be given the opportunity to plan and explore 60 in 60 apps and/or complete Mandated Reporter Training. This is the last time the district will be offering "PD time" for Mandated Reporter Training. A more detailed schedule will be sent via email. This will take place at Seylar...no traveling.
In-service for all Classroom Teaching Assistants (TA’s) & Special Assignment Teaching Assistants (PCA’s) is scheduled on Tuesday 11/3/15 from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm at Central Middle School. Additional details will be sent to you the week of 10/26/15.
Embedded Technology Coaching on Tuesday
Cara Gurysh, PSD Technology Coach, will be at Seylar on October 20 to provide embedded technology coaching for our staff. Please remember that her focus is on the 4 C's and 60 in 60 Apps (including Symbaloo and Blendspace).

It's Budget Time!
It is time to plan for Seylar’s 2016-17 instructional year! Please consider your needs carefully. Inventory your supplies; consider your program, special projects, and contingency needs before requesting items. All classroom art supplies will be ordered from Office Depot. The Elementary Classroom Art Supplies Bid Lists have been discontinued per the business department.
New this year is grade level/department budgets were created based on a “cost per pupil” formula. The amount this year is $6 per student for all general supplies. When multiplied by the estimated enrollment number for the next school year, your total grade level/department budget is produced. The purpose for this change is to create equitable funding for all students in our school. Please remember the following:
- Login to Office Depot to see the discounted rates. If you don’t have a login, please contact the main office.
- Print your shopping cart, when you have completed your ordering for the 2016-17 school year. Your name should be on the shopping cart order print out. Add the print out to your binder.
- If you would like to order some specialized supplies/equipment from another vendor, please use the requisition forms found in your binder.
Your budget binder will be distributed to you on Monday, 10/12. The budget binder is due back to Tina Hulshizer no later than Monday, October 26.
Student Work in Hallways
· This is a just a friendly reminder that student work displayed in the hallways for every classroom, should convey what the students are currently learning or recently learned in a given subject area. You are also permitted to display holiday/seasonal art projects too. If you have any questions, please let me know.
