Holiday Support
The holiday season is a time of excitement and cheer. It can also be a time of stress and pressure for families. If you are feeling financially stressed this year and could use some support for your family, please let us know.
We have a Holiday Gift Giving program at CFB as well as one in conjunction with the Millis Police and Fire Departments. We would love to hear from you about how we can help. Please call (508) 376-7003 ext 568 to leave a message on this confidential line, or email Kelly Annunziato at kannunziato@millissschools.org and we will connect back with you about ways to support your family.
The Millis Police and Fire Department are also once again working together to support Millis Families during the holiday season. If your family could use support with toys for your children, please complete the attached form. Linked here: Millis Police & Fire Holiday Assistance Program 2023

Cultural Flags
We would like to celebrate our cultural diversity by hanging the flags of every student and staff’s birthplace in our school. If your child was born outside of the United States, kindly email Mrs. Mulligan at kmulligan@millisschools.org and include your child's name and birth country so we can include the flag in our collection. Please respond by December 8th. Thank you for your support!
From the Nurses' Office
Massachusetts State law requires a physical examination for all students entering kindergarten, fourth grade, seventh grade, and newly enrolled students. If you have already sent in your child's physical exam this school year, please disregard. If not, please send in your child's physical exam performed within the last 13 months as soon as possible.
Soup Drive
Be a SOUPER hero!! CFB is partnering with the Millis Food Bank to collect cans of soup for families in need for the month of December. We will present the Food Bank with the Soup Collection at our December All School Assembly focused on Giving. Please have your student(s) bring in cans of soup to the collection box in the lobby. There are many benefits to soup: Easy to prepare, Nutritious, and Delicious. To aid families in accessing the soup, Pull Top Cans are preferred. Thank you for your support and generosity.
Cultural Traditions
As part of our celebration of languages and cultures through the daily morning messages, Mrs. Valluzzi, our digital and technology specialist, is looking to share some cultural traditions that families have. If you would like to share about a favorite cultural New Year’s tradition for your family, please fill out the Google Form with as much information as you can (the form is located in the attached link). If you prefer to fill out the form in your home language, that is totally fine. Ms. Valluzzi can translate if needed. CFB Cultural Traditions 2023-2024
Nutcracker Field Trip to Millis High School
All CFB students were able to enjoy an abridged version of the Nutcracker at the high school last week. Our students did a wonderful job displaying audience expectations and the middle and high school performers also did a terrific job. Thank you to Mrs. Copice for arranging such a wonderful opportunity for our students.
The Full Show of the Nutcracker will be taking place this weekend 12/1-12/3: Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 1pm. Many CFB students are performing and it is an exciting community experience.

This morning, CFB students participated in our third fire drill of the year. Students exited the building quietly and safely. We are proud of the way our students conducted themselves during this drill. Great job, CFB.

CFB students have worked hard to earn Bear Paws for following our school expectations!
- Taking care of themselves
- Taking care of others
- Taking care of the environment
Tomorrow, we will be celebrating their hard work with a School-Wide Hat Day. Please allow your student to wear their favorite hat to school tomorrow.
The Nutcracker
Tomorrow, CFB students have the opportunity to walk over to the high school to see an abbreviated version of the Nutcracker. The full production will take place on December 1st at 7:00 pm, 2nd at 2:00 pm, and 3rd at 1:00 pm.

CFB Original Works
All orders need to be placed online by tomorrow Friday, November 17th. Please follow the instructions included in the letter that was sent home with your child’s artwork last week.
Attendance
A student's attendance in school is a strong factor in academic success. We understand there are times when students will be absent. However, we ask that families consider taking long vacations at times when school is not in session. The academic instruction and engagement lost is challenging for students to recoup.
Substitutes Needed
If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity, CFB is looking for Substitute Teachers. Please contact Mrs. Molloy at emolloy@millisschools.org if you are interested.
Our District Transportation Department is also looking for bus and van drivers. CDL training is provided by the District. Please contact Sandy LaBarge at 508-906-3632 if you are interested in this opportunity.
