Who Do You Say I Am?

Jesus is: Kind, Welcoming, and Eternally Loving

Jesus is the Son of God, and as Catholics, we recognize him as such. However, Jesus sees himself as one of us; Christ is humble and does not boast about being God's true son. His life serves as an example to us all on how to live as God wishes us to live. What I take from Jesus' teachings and life is that his love is eternally expansive and beyond universal. The depth of his love for us is never-ending and it is so important for us to show God that we have faith in him. We are promised everlasting life with God as a reward for loving him. We display our love for God, not by shouting it out for the world to hear, but through our humble acts of kindness and service to the needy.

Personal Passage Selections

Luke 6:35

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

2 Samuel 22:33

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.

These passages hold a lot of meaning for me because they show that love is most important in God's eyes. Luke 6:35, teaches me to love all people no matter what the circumstance. Like God, we should learn to be forgiving and kind to all of His people. If we learn to love all humans, our reward is everlasting life with God. In 2 Samuel 22:33, I heed the message that God is the source of my will and sense of strength to love others. Both passages teach me the importance of loving God's people.

Jesus is like a jungle

While one may not think of Jesus as a jungle, Christ bears a great deal of similarities to one. Like a jungle, Jesus is full of extraordinary beauty. A jungle may span a wide amount of earth, and Jesus' love is even farther-reaching than that. Also, much like a jungle, Jesus is so full of life and vitality - he is truly everliving.
