Principals' Post
Hello Panther Families,
Thank you to all the Panther families who participated this past week in NPD117's virtual spirit week - keep sending your remote learning photos to kreingruber@npd117.net! See below for some amazing Panther spirit photos!
REMOTE LEARNING
As announced previously, school locations will remain closed through April 30th. However, our students continue to participate in learning activities at home through the District's remote learning plans. Please continue to access this site each week to keep your child engaged in learning from home.
Our team continues to review the state’s Remote Learning guidance to see what changes will be needed to meet the state’s directive. On Monday, April 6th and Tuesday, April 7th, teams of teachers will be meeting to discuss Remote Learning plans for the upcoming month. Because of this, teacher response times to student or family emails may be delayed. As our teams review the state’s guidance, we will continue to provide you with updates to our current plan. Please also note that there will be no Remote Learning Days on Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13 as these dates were scheduled days off on the school calendar.
TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT QUESTIONS
If you have questions related to logins or accessing websites/accounts, please ask your child's teacher. If they are unable to support you, they will direct your question to the correct person to promptly assist you.
If you have a District-issued Chromebook that is in need of repair, you can swap your student device with a loaner on Wednesdays and Fridays at the main entrance of Conrady Jr. High between 10am - 12pm. This applies to all students throughout the district. We are using Conrady Jr. High as the central location for exchange.
We will be conducting the exchange as an opportunity to safely trade a device that needs repair in order to receive a working loaner. We ask that if you are turning in a Chromebook for repair to bring the power cord along with it.
MEAL DISTRIBUTION
Meals will continue to be distributed to students from 10 a.m. until noon on Mondays and Wednesdays at Conrady Junior High School.
When picking up meals at Conrady, enter through the north entrance on Roberts Road and follow the traffic cones to proceed to door 8 to receive meals. Remain in your vehicle, provide us the number of children, and meals will be brought to you. Children do NOT need to be in the vehicle to receive meals.
Please call 708-233-4514 to speak with Food Services with questions or concerns including the inability to pick up meals at these times and we will attempt to make other arrangements.
PARK AND PLAYGROUND CLOSURE
We appreciate your cooperation in understanding that ALL school parks and playgrounds ARE CLOSED until further notice as we work in concert with our local municipalities to try and stem the spread of the Coronavirus.
REPORT CARDS
Quarter 3 Report Cards will be available on Friday, April 17th.
I-READY FAMILY SUPPORT DOCUMENTS
Many families have requested support with logging on to the I-Ready system. Please reference the links below for login assistance.
Please continue to check www.npd117.net for updates.

NEW - The Panther Pulse
Your child can join our Panther Pulse Flipgrid by going to the website https://flipgrid.com/pantherpulse and choosing to log in with Google. This will link them to their school account to access the site.
Once on the site, your child will need to tap the green plus below to open the Flipgrid camera and record a short video to say HELLO to their fellow Panthers, sharing ONE THING that they have been doing at home during their time away from school.
Once submitted, the video is held for approval. Once approved, the ENTIRE SCHOOL will be able to see the post - including all of our teachers!
Each week, we will be updating the Panther Pulse with a new question for students to consider and create a response. We are excited to see all of our Panthers - even if it is only in a short video each week!
Time to Come In, Bear - Social Distancing Story
Time to Come In, Bear is a children's story that explores the topic of social distancing.
A note from the author: No children's story should be written in a weekend, but I wanted to get this out while social distancing is so important for prevention. We're in awe of parents who are navigating this new normal with their littles and hope this will help to start a dialogue or provide comfort in uncertain times.
Panthers at Home
