Dear Robert Hunter families,

We had a great week at RH! Seeing those first snowflakes was certainly a special moment for our students! Our 4th grade students led a fantastic whole-school assembly. When it was too cold (and snowy!) to have the assembly outdoors, the students did a great job pivoting to an indoors virtual assembly. The assembly focused on our whole school read-aloud, We are Grateful - Otsaliheliga. This book tells about Cherokee traditions during different seasons and is about being grateful for your community and the people around you. RH students will be working with their buddy classes this month to share about their own traditions that they are grateful for with each other.

The students also enjoyed game day this past Friday! We loved seeing students playing their favorite board games with their classmates - having fun while also practicing communication and social skills!

Thank you for joining us at conferences this past week. We look forward to a continued home and school partnership as we support our students.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Glaab and Mrs. Braynor

Parent pick-up reminder

As a reminder, families must stay in vehicles when picking up children at dismissal. We ask that you do not get out of your car to greet your child. Thank you for your cooperation in following the directions of our staff members during dismissal time.

After-school support program

If your child was invited into the after-school support program, the program begins this week. You should have received a confirmation call from the office with transportation information. If you would prefer to pick up your child, please send an email to Wendy Chambers at

From Mrs. Cunniff, our School Nurse

Hi Parents! I’ve been seeing some vaccine cards coming in as your children are receiving their second doses. Thank you so much for submitting these. As a reminder—while the flu vaccine is encouraged for all, there is no need to send an updated vaccine report indicating your child received the flu vaccine. Additionally, please do not send your child into school with cold medication, cough drops, or any essential oils or herbal remedies. If your child is ill please keep him or her home and call me. Thanks again for helping to keep our building healthy!

Spirit Day

Our 4th grade student council students have planned another spirit day for Friday, Dec. 10th- Party Day! Students are encouraged to wear their favorite party clothes or spiritwear and will be making party hats in school.
