What is laser surgery? What is a laser scalpel?

Laser surgery is surgery using a laser to cut tissue. Laser scalpels are used in otherwise conventional surgery and soft tissue laser surgery, in which the laser beam vaporizes soft tissue with high water content. This type of surgery is most commonly used on the eye to correct near or farsightedness in vision. A laser scalpel is a device, used for the cutting living tissue by the energy of laser light. In soft tissue laser surgery, a beam vaporizes the soft tissue with high water content.

When it was invented? Who was it invented by?

The first form of laser surgery was invented in about 1987 and was called PRK for short. This procedure is where the thin outer layer of the cornea is removed and the laser is applied to the underlying core of the cornea. Dr.Peyman is a surgeon who has more than a hundred patients. He is most known for LASIK Eye Surgery, a vision correction procedure that allows people to see clearer without the use of glasses or lenses.
