Principal's Note...
The staff and I feel so blessed to be a part of such a supportive community. Often times, we are really touched by the generosity of our community. It really is a blessing to have so many folks in town who are willing to help us make our school great. Recently, our lobby aquarium has gone through some challenging times and we need to invest some funds into it to get it up to par. A former parent, David Talifero reached out to us and offered to donate a very generous amount of money via the Spaulding Education Foundation to get us started with improvements to make it more dynamic and usable as both a teaching tool and a focal point for the school. If you would like to help out with the aquarium rejuvenation project in any capacity (donations, volunteering, etc.), please reach out to Tim Kirk (tim@gotfish.com) or myself. We are very excited about the improvements that we hope to make!
Another shout out goes to Stacey Lai who has offered to coordinate a "drop and shop" bin fundraiser for MMES. There is a box in the lobby and more information below. MMES will receive 70% of all funds raised from the program. Thank you Stacey! Let's fill that box!
Have a great weekend!
Best,
John

6:00-7:30pm

in our cool, hip MMES café!
This FREE (low-key) family event will feature an Open Mic format
for 4th and 5th grade students* to share a favorite poem.
ALL children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
ALL ages are welcome.
Snacks and beverages will be served.
*4th and 5th grade students must sign up in advance at the school library if they would like to share a poem at the event.
A special note about younger siblings: while all ages are welcome, the focus of the event is on our 4th and 5th grade poets. Please use your best judgment in deciding not to bring younger siblings who may take away this focus and disrupt the poetry. You might think of it as a special night for your eldest elementary student.
