Prevention of Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying
The district has established clear expectations, policies and procedures to support an environment that does not tolerate any type of harassment, intimidation or bullying.
At Blue Ash Elementary, we work with our students every day to make positive and supportive choices in order to Be Safe, Respectful, Responsible, Problem Solvers.
What can parents do to support positive behaviors?
Talk with your child about appropriate and respectful behavior
Continuously monitor your child’s use of technology at home
Listen to your child and report to us to investigate concerns
Encourage your child to report to an adult at school close to the time of the incident
Empower your child to tell the other child when something upsets him/her
Empower your child to report when they see another child being picked on
Don’t overuse the word “bully” - Bullying is defined as "unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated over time and has shown to have negative effects on both the student who is bullied and the student who bullies others."
Remember that an investigation must take place before a decision is made as to whether or not it is a bullying situation
Remember that the school must honor the confidentiality of student information and names
Mrs. Combs and Mrs. Ament will be discussing this important topic with parents at the next PTO meeting, September 13 in the UC wing next to Blue Ash Elementary. We hope you can join us.

Active Aves Fall Session
Active Aves is a fun recess running program at Blue Ash Elementary. We are so excited to kick off the Fall Session for the 2018/19 school year! The children can't wait to get involved with Active Aves again in a few short weeks!
The program will be every Tuesday and Thursday starting September 18th through October 25th, only when outdoor recess is occurring. Volunteers are needed to help cheer on the kids, punch lap cards and hand out prizes. The children love this running program so much, as do the volunteers!
Each shift will have two spots available. First and Second Grade recess 11:45am-12:30pm. Third and Fourth Grade recess 12:45pm-1:30pm.
To sign up, please visit http://bit.ly/2Nw8Raf or email stephaniesheard@hotmail.com. If no available shifts remain, please feel free to come, as we can always use an extra set of hands. You are also welcome to walk or run laps with the children.
Thanks in advance for your time and energy, so we can provide this great activity for our kids!

Aisa Claybon & Stephanie Sheard
