Our Mission
Our Vision: Every Student a Success
#BeSupportive
This week students will embark upon their second benchmark assessment which will determine their level of mastery of skills taught thus far this year. It will also indicate for us what areas we need to continue to focus. Teachers and students have been working hard to prepare for these benchmarks. All assessments will be given during the morning class period following the morning announcements and class meeting. Teachers will share further details about grade level/class assessments. We ask for your support in the following areas:
- Ensure your student gets the proper amount of rest each night. (Make sure they are not on their technology, playing games, searching YouTube, surfing the internet, etc. when they should be sleeping. The best way to do that is to take away their access when schoolwork is complete.)
- Ensure your student's technology is charged properly (If there is a problem with their technology, please email support@lancasterISD so the problem can be addressed.
- Ensure your student logs into class on time each day. Monitor as best you can, to ensure they remain on the appropriate site during class/testing.
- Encourage students to give their best effort.
- Resist the urge to help students with answers and do the work for them. We need to know what our students are able to do so that we know how to best support them.
- Resist the urge to unmute and try to ask questions of teachers. This is an interruption to the learning/testing environment. Teachers will share their expectations for how to handle questions. Please support them and all of our student learners by not interrupting the learning environment.
Students showing mastery on their assessments will receive various incentives based on their individual performance. Virtual students will be included in a drive-thru celebration on February 4.
