CFES Trail Guide for Parents
Blazing the trail to excellence
Week of January 25, 2021
Thank you all for being part of our Trail to Excellence. CFES continues to excel daily due to great kids, an amazing staff and wonderful, supportive parents & community. Last week we received more positive recognition as two of our students won first and second place in the TISD Science Fair. In addition the Texas Honor Roll Schools were just released and CFES & CPJH made the list with “Scholar” recognitions (high performing without significant levels of low-income students and achievement gap closing schools).
Keep up the great team work CFES. Together we can do great things for your children! Have a great week.

A reminder from Jennifer Rivera (PTO Yearbook Coordinator)
On behalf of the CFES yearbook staff, I want to remind the Creekside Forest community that the 2020-21 yearbook is happening!
With so much going on in our lives this year, it is more important than ever to capture and remember the events and history unfolding around our students and school.
I think all students should have – a limited-edition record of our school year that they will have the rest of their lives.
Our publisher will be printing only enough copies to fill the orders received, and our order window will be ending soon. Please don’t miss out on this opportunity – order your copy at www.balfour.com before our order deadline of Thursday, January 28 at midnight.
Important Information from Nurse Jennifer
Please continue to notify Nurse Jennifer (email@example.com) and Patricia Vintimilla (firstname.lastname@example.org) for all student absences. If your student is home ill, please include their symptoms of illness or if they tested positive for flu, strep or Covid. Nurse Jennifer is tracking cases and then we implement additional school cleaning.
Nurse Jennifer will help guide you through any Covid-19 quarantine recommendations and notify teachers to initiate work for Schoology. Please note students are unable to "switch" to virtual school. If quarantined by the nurse, they may do work in Schoology. If they engage in Schoology each day, they are not counted absent. Teachers may need time to put work in Schoology. Check Schoology at frequent intervals. If your student is too ill to do work and does not engage, they are counted absent.
Friendship & Kindness Week ( February 8th- 12th)
Your teacher will be in touch regarding what they will be hosting virtually that week for students to create virtual friendship (Valentine) cards, participate in a friendship challenge etc. Be on the look out for their communication.
Friendship/Kindness Week ( February 8th-12th)
All students are encouraged to bring in friendship (Valentine) cards for all members of their class. We ask that all students bring them to school on or before February 10th. In addition students may choose to make a special Valentine box or bag at home to bring to school to collect their friendship cards in. For families not wishing to create Valentine boxes at home, bags will be provided at school.
We do ask that all special boxes/bags be brought to school along with friendship cards for classmates on or before Wednesday, February 10th.
**If there is a small surprise attached to the cards that is fine, however; please refrain from sending in treat bags etc. for students/classes.
Bus Transportation Updates
Parents please remember due to required safety protocols, only students who are pre-registered may ride the bus. TISD Transportation should have sent you an email confirming your student is registered to ride. Please call 281-357-3193 to register your child for bus service. It does take a couple of days to add students to the routes so you may need to bring your student to school the first couple of days.
SMART TAG program ready to begin for bus riders:
Tomball ISD has provided student ID cards for students. We will begin by placing your child’s SMART-Tag ID card on their backpack with a zip tie. The system is designed to increase safety and security for students riding on a school bus. We are asking that you do not remove the tag at this time. For more information please visit the TISD website at the following link: TISD Smart Tag System and ID Cards
2020-21 CFES Spirit Days
