We encourage all of our families to attend the Social Media 101 Family Information Night. Part of our safety and security plan involves keeping our students safe while they are online; you can read more about how we accomplish this in this week's safety and security series article. However, all of our families play a vital role in this mission. In Social Media 101, you will learn about apps teens are using, what to look for, and how we can work together to keep our students safe online.

PTS SCHOOL SAFETY & SECURITY SERIES
Keeping students safe on school-issued devices with Securly
Securly is installed on each school-issued iPad for students in grades 6 through 12. The service monitors each student's internet use while using the device and sends school administrators alerts when inappropriate content is found.
All families of students in grades 6 through 12 will receive a weekly email report from Securly that details your child's internet usage. Families may monitor their child's usage in real time by visiting www.securly.com or downloading the Securly app from Google Play or the iOS App Store.
This service is free for all of our families.
See the flyer below for more information about Securly. Questions? Email us at ptscommunications@portage.k12.in.us.
