Winds around the globe!
By: Grace Cooper
The basics
Local winds move short distances, covering a small area And global winds cover a large area.
Doldrums
a belt of wind and light flowing winds north of the equator between the northern and southern trade winds in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
How do the land and sea breezes blow?
In the night, land cools down much quicker than does the waters of the ocean. the land becomes cooler, so does the air above it. This results in air becoming more dense, forming a high pressure, causing winds to blow out towards the sea. This is known as a land breeze.
Wind and air pressure!
Wind is the movement of air caused by difference in air pressure. And air pressure is caused by the uneven hating of earth.
