Meet our BOC (band-orchestra-choir) Directors

Mrs. Reatherford loves to make music and is eager to begin her 23rd year as a middle school band director! Before directing the Attea Flyer Bands, she taught in Michigan, Wisconsin, and at Pleasant Ridge and Springman. Mrs. Reatherford earned a BME from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a MME from Northwestern University. She is a National Board Certified Teacher (EAYA Music-Band) and currently serves on the Illinois Grade School Music Association Board as a District Chairperson.

In addition to directing middle school bands, Mrs. Reatherford is an Orchestra Mom! Her son Ian (9) is a cello player and her daughter Molly (7) plays the harp.

Mr. Gardner is very excited to join the music team at Attea this year! A bassist and tubist who is absolutely hooked on all kinds of music, he completed his BME at Illinois Wesleyan University and student taught at Metea Valley and Granger in D204. This is his first teaching job, and he is thrilled to be teaching music in District 34. Mr. Gardner is an avid performer and composer in addition to his teaching, and is an avowed believer that music education strengthens all aspects of his students' lives. He is looking forward to making some great music with his groups this year!

Ms. Stanton is delighted to begin her fourth year as the Choir and General Music Teacher at Attea! After attending University of Illinois (I-L-L!) for her BME, she completed her student teaching at Attea and GBS. Ms. Stanton taught music for two years at a K-8 school charter school in Chicago, but she missed the wonderful choir programs in Glenview, so she found her way back. Every year she is amazed by the hard work and progress of Flyer Choir, Chorale and Bella Voce and she is really looking forward to digging into the music with this year's fantastic groups!
