MATH CORNER: Math Fact Fluency
Math fact fluency is the ability to quickly recall addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division math facts through conceptual learning, fact strategies, and memorization.
Math fluency is important because it…
✨contributes to students’ ability to solve more difficult problems quicker and more accurately.
✨leads to success in students’ future mathematics courses and careers.
✨builds confidence in students’ math ability.
This year, each grade level has made a commitment to a set of facts. We will be posting weekly tips via Facebook and our newsletter. We look forward to working together to ensure mastery of our math fact commitments!

Math Game for the Week: Dominoe War Game
Here's how to play:
This is a game for two people. First, place all dominoes face down. Each person places his/her hand over a dominoe, ready to flip it over. The first player (rotating turns so each person gets a chance to do this) whispers, "Ready? Go!".
Players then flip the dominoe, multiply both sides of it together (for example 2 and 4 would be 8) and say the answer quietly. Whoever says the answer correctly wins both dominoes. The person with the most dominoes at the end wins the game.
