Halloween Parade & Carnival Updates...
TK-K students: will come to school in costume (if they choose) and will participate in a parade at 11:45 A.M. around the campus with their teachers. Parents are welcome to come and witness this magical fun!
1-5th Grade Students: Will come to school and change at school into their costumes. It is recommended that students come to school with clothes that they can put a costume over to make changing into the costume much easier. 1-5th grade parade begins at 1:00 on the blacktop! Parents are welcome to come enjoy the parade with us!
6-8th Grade Students: Middle school students can come to school in costume. 6-8th students will participate in a Halloween Carnival on the upper field. If you can volunteer please contact mterrito@rcsdk8.net and let her know! Carnival will begin soon after lunch and last until the end of the day.
PBIS at Clifford
We are starting to implement a new PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports PBIS) system at Clifford. PBIS is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success. Starting next week, you may see your student come home with a Dolphin Creed ticket. These tickets will be awarded to students by teachers and administrators for showing one of our Dolphin Creed traits which are character, respect, empathy, eager and dreamer. Students can use these tickets to purchase small prizes at the student store, which we are slowly building and would like to have open on Thursdays afterschool. We have consulted with our middle school students and even have prizes that they would like to see in the store! This is the beginning of our efforts to reward all of the positive behavior we see happening at Clifford! Go Dolphins!

Clifford School Halloween Costume Guidelines!
Clifford Dress Code – no bare midriffs or “revealing” clothing, short-shorts, all clothes should completely cover undergarments, appropriate shoes must be worn, etc. You must be able to sit, walk, breathe, see and hear! Costumes cannot promote the use of drugs, alcohol or weapons of any kind. No fake blood or gore. No pretend “prop” weapons such as water pistols, knives or swords. Costumes may not be offensive or inappropriate in any way. Any costume that will disrupt the routine of the day or class, including PE, will not be allowed. The final decision on all costumes will be made by the administration. Please remember that this is still a full school day. Students are expected to fully participate in each class throughout the day. We are looking forward to everyone following the guidelines, coming up with creative costumes, and having fun!

Fraser Street
I am interested to have my name placed on the ballot for election to the Clifford School Site Council. My daughter Emma is in her second year at Clifford (K, now 1st grade). Given the funding challenges and the district restructuring that has occurred over the last year, I am ready to do what I can to help the Clifford administration work with the district to ensure the best possible school experience for our kids at Clifford. For full disclosure, my wife Leslie is the Treasurer of the Clifford PTO. I work full time for a network software company in Santa Clara, and we live in the Clifford district of Redwood City.
I approve Fraser Street for Clifford School Site Council.

Project Cornerstone! Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon...
In October we begin Project Cornerstone. This is our 3rd year having this wonderful program at Clifford. From the PTO website, “Project Cornerstone’s Asset Building Champions (ABCs) are caring adults who read books and lead discussions with students in class. Through select stories, we will help build a school-wide language for handling social-emotional and relationship issues and empower students to make good choices. What’s more, ABC readers will connect with students and make a difference in their lives all year long. You can visit their website www.projectcornerstone.org. We are looking for caring parents and adult volunteers who want to engage with students once a month in class (you don’t have to read every month! Any amount of time that you can contribute will be much appreciated For more information or to sign up, please contact Shabnam Moon at shabnam.moon.com.
Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon...
Molly Lou is a unique little girl with big confidence, bolstered by the support of her grandmother. This story illustrates how the support of a caring and loving adult can, along with the recognition of your own personal powers and self-talk, can make one strong and brave to stand up to bullies... and even create change in one's own world.
