The Bill of Rights
By: Sarah Crowley
What is the Bill of Rights?
The Bill of Rights are the first 10 articles in the U.S constitution that discuss all of our individual rights and freedoms.
Amendment 1: The right to have a voice
The first amendment to the constitution states that we have the freedoms of: speech, religion, press, and assembly. You can say what you want as long as you don't lie about something that can put people in danger (like yelling "fire!" in a movie theater when the isn't one) nor can you tell an all out viral lie about someone.
Amendment 2: The Right to Bear Arms
The second amendment states that citizens have the right to own a weapon for self- defense. For example, if a robber came into your house you would have the right to defend you and your family.
Amendment 3: No Quartering
This amendment states that no one can force you to house and provide for soldiers in times of peace.
Amendment 4: No Warrant, No Entry!!!
This amendment states that no one can come into search and take stuff out of your house without a warrant and a very good reason.
Amendment 10: State Rights
This amendment states that rights not given to the federal govt. are given to the states.
